Everything you need to know about Evervita Nutrition.
Freeze-drying is a gentle process that transforms freshly cooked meals into lightweight, shelf-stable food by carefully removing moisture at low temperatures under vacuum pressure. This method helps preserve what matters most - the flavour, texture, and nutrients, which is far better than traditional drying techniques. When you rehydrate the meal, it comes back remarkably close to how it was originally prepared, so you can still enjoy a satisfying, home-style experience.
By removing moisture, which is the main cause of spoilage, and packaging each meal in a high-barrier pouch with an oxygen absorber, followed by nitrogen flushing to reduce any remaining oxygen, we create meals that are naturally preserved without the need for additives or refrigeration. This thoughtful, multi-layered approach helps protect your food from oxidation, moisture, and gradual degradation over time.
Under ideal conditions, freeze-dried foods are widely recognised to last up to 25 years. While our products have not yet been tested over that full period, they are carefully designed with long-term stability in mind, giving you confidence in their reliability.
As with any stored food, we always recommend regular rotation to ensure you enjoy the best possible quality and freshness.
No, our meals are made without the use of chemical preservatives. Instead, we rely on a carefully designed preservation process that includes freeze-drying, nitrogen flushing, and high-quality packaging. Together, these methods help extend shelf life while maintaining the integrity and quality of each meal
Dehydrated foods are typically produced using high heat to remove moisture, which can compromise nutritional value and limit shelf life to less than a year. This method is most often used for vegetables, as many animal-based ingredients, such as meat, can become tough, shrunken, and less appealing when exposed to heat. In addition, the higher residual moisture left behind can increase the risk of oxidation and spoilage, creating an environment where bacteria may develop over time.
Freeze-drying offers a very different approach. By using a low-temperature process, moisture is gently removed while helping to preserve up to 98% of the food’s original nutrients. This method supports long-term storage, with freeze-dried foods widely recognised for shelf lives of up to 25 years under the right conditions. Because the structure of the food remains largely intact, meals are able to maintain their natural colour, flavour, and texture, delivering a result that feels much closer to freshly prepared food
Net weight refers to the weight of the food in its dry form, excluding the pouch and any added moisture.
Rehydrated weight is the estimated weight of the meal once water has been added and the food has returned to its ready-to-eat state.
We include both values to help you make informed choices. The rehydrated weight gives you a clear idea of how much food you will have to enjoy, while the net weight shows how lightweight and easy the product is to store or carry.

Preparing your EverVita Nutrition freeze-dried meal is quick and simple.
Each pouch is designed to rehydrate fast, making it perfect for home, work, travel, or emergencies.
Step-by-step preparation
1. Tear the bag open
Open the pouch along the tear line at the top.
Be careful not to spill the contents.
2. Remove the oxygen absorber
Inside the pouch, you’ll find a small oxygen absorber packet.
Remove and discard it before adding water.
Do not eat the oxygen absorber.
3. Add hot water
Pour the recommended amount of hot water directly into the pouch.
Most meals only need enough water to cover the contents comfortably.
Stir gently if the meal contains thicker ingredients or seasonings.
4. Seal the bag and wait
Reseal the pouch securely.
Allow the meal to stand for a few minutes so it can fully rehydrate.
Rehydration time may vary slightly depending on the meal, but most are ready in 5-10 minutes.
5. Stir and enjoy
Open the pouch, give the meal a final stir, and enjoy it directly from the bag or transfer it to a bowl.
Your meal is now ready to eat.
Boiling water will give you the best taste and texture when preparing your meal. If boiling water is not available, very hot water can still be used with good results.
In more limited situations, even room-temperature water will rehydrate the meal, although it may take a bit longer, and the texture may vary slightly.
